Bio of Stuart Thompson – Anxiety & Addictions Specialist in Colchester Essex

Stuart Thompson has been working with people to help  them overcome their anxiety and addictions for over 15 years.  Over this time Stuart has gained invaluable experience which enables him to adopt his own specialised approach to treat anxiety and addictions.  Stuart has a range of skills which he uses to treat anxiety and addictions including hypnosis, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) psychotherapy & NLP (Neuro Linguistic Processing)

From early on in his life, Stuart knew he wanted to spend his life helping people.  Stuart is originally from Durham and after school and college, Stuart attended university gaining a social work qualification and worked as a social worker in the north of England.  As this as a strong background, Stuart then developed his skills further by training to become a hypnotist.

Stuart’s hypnotherapy clinic in Leeds, quickly became one of the largest in the area and he treated many people, including celebrities, sports people, blue chip companies and the music industry.  People attended Stuart’s hypnotherapy clinic for many reasons, including to Stop Smoking, Gain confidence, OCD, anxiety, lose weight, alcohol problems and more.  Stuart’s interest in personal development has meant he has a successful coaching history.  In 2004 Stuart was privileged to be one of the few hypnotherapists to start a clinic within a G.P’s surgery and also had NHS referrals.  In 2007 Stuart was invited to open a practice in London’s Harley Street.  Due to Stuart’s success and experience he is recognised by the Hypnotherapy Standards Council as a senior hypnotherapist.  Stuart has also featured in the media including a BBC interview.

In 2008 Stuart moved from the city, to the seaside when he moved to Mersea Island in Essex.  Mersea Island is a beautiful and unique place and its stunning surroundings evoke a relaxing and calm atmosphere, which is the ideal for treating anxiety.

Stuart has a clinic in West Mersea near Colchester in Essex.  If distance is a problem, he also has experience and can treat many people online through Skype.
